Vivekananda Rock |

It was built in 1970. Vivekananda Rock
Memorial is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda, the greatest social reformer
and saint modern India has produced. Swami Vivekananda was supposed to
have meditated on the rock where the memoriel stands today at the end of the year
1892 before his disparture for Chicago to participate in the
world religious conference in 1983. The memorial stands today at this place. Meditation hall is also attached with
the Memorial
.

Guganathaswamy Temple (Lord Shiva) |

This is a 1000 year old temple and is said to have been built by the King Raja Raja Chola. The architectural style of the Cholas is quiet apparent in this temple. It is located near Railway Station. There are 16 inscriptions found in this temple that date back to the years 1038 A.D., 1044 A.D., 1045 .A.D.

This is a circular Fort

Suchindram Temple |

It is near the land's end of the India. Hardly 13 kms
from Hotel Sunworld kanykumari. It lies just by the side of Trivandrum - Cape Comorin road. This Place is noted for its temple called
"Thanumalayan -Temple", Musical Pillars and a huge 18 foot high
Hanuman Statue are proof of the artistic skills of that
time. Inscriptions said to be of the 19 th Century A.D are found in this
Temple. This unique Temple is dedicated to the Trimurthys Vishnu, Siva
and Bhramah.

Nagaraja Temple |

The Nagaraja (Serpent God) is the presiding deity,
the images of Lord Shiva and Ananthakrishna are also enshrined here. The
images of the jain Theerthanyars, Mahavira, Parsuanathar are found on the
pillars of the temple. Nagaraja is installed on the ground where it was
originally found and the sands scooped out and given as prasadam
to the devotees. The entrance to the temple is similar to the Chinese
architecture of the Buddist Vihar. This Temple is in nagercoil which is
19 kms from Hotel Sun world. |
